15 950 euro allocated in grants in the fall of 2024

The Sweden-Lithuania Cooperation fund works to support bilateral exchange and grants project funding twice a year. At the board meeting on the 21 October 2024, the board of the Sweden-Lithuania Cooperation Fund allocated 15 950 euro in grants. The grants fall in the categories project and travel, because this time no grants in the category media were approved. In addition to the 27 500 euro allocated in the spring of 2024, a total of 43 450 euro have been available for various Sweden-Lithuanian cooperation projects. The approved grants in the fall of 2024 are:

  • #P2440 Sam Message (project grant), project named “CULT of the People X We Are Propaganda”, 3 500 euro.

    The aim of the project is for the Lithuanian counter-culture queer movement “We are propaganda” to join forces with the Swedish collective “CULT” to share knowledge and explore our various senses of belonging and our experiences as non-normative people from across the LGBTQ+ spectrum in our respective societies.

  • #P2443 Fadhel Mourali (project grant), project named ''to be and to become: mythopoetic thoughts'', 3 000 euro.

    An artistic exchange between Sweden and Lithuania, by reimagining both countries traditional craft heritage through artworks made via new and innovative ways. It is to be a production of artworks that mix specialised areas: woven textiles and 3-d printing and that fuses artistic practices into one creative output manifesting both countries’ identities and cultural heritage.

  • #P2447 Svensk Litauiska Riksföreningen (project grant), project named “A network for young professionals in Sweden and Lithuania in the field in forestry education”, 4 000 euro.

    An exchange between Ryssby Upper Secondary School's forestry education and the machine operator course in Kaunas Forestry and Environmental Engineering University of Applied Sciences, where students will meet and follow each other in training.

  • #P2449 Jevgenija Jerochina-Labanauskiene (project grant), project named “Bridging Art and Science across The Baltic Sea”, 3 000 euro.

    The establishment of a partnership and collaboration between Klaipeda University STEAM Center and Eco- and Bioart Lab Linkoping University that represent two countries located and connected by the Baltic Sea with the same marine ecology that is understood both similar and different at the same time. The aim is to sharing best practices on both raising awareness of BioArt in general as well as discuss the possible ways for integrating BioArt into STEAM education framework.

  • #T2423 Gita Vilčiauskienė, (travel grant), project named “Pages for the future: links between reading and sustainability”, 2 000 euro.

    The purpose of the project is to promote and strengthen cooperation between Jonas Avyžius Public Library of Joniškis district municipality and the librarian colleagues from the Vimmerby Public Library.

  • #T2419 Irina Liubertė (travel grant), project named “Collaboration on advancing assistance and guide dogs training and access for schoolchildren and young adults”, 950 euro

    The aim of this project is to exchange experience and knowledge about the specific challenges met by schoolchildren and young adults who are assistance dog users.
