Particular attention is given to exchange and cooperation for network building between young people to promote social cohesion, creativity, innovations and the formation of new enterprises.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The Sweden-Lithuania Cooperation Fund supports the development of promising project ideas and the start-up phase of new projects with a clear development perspective. Particular attention will be given to exchange and cooperation for network building between young people to promote social cohesion, creativity, innovations, and development of ideas about new enterprises.

You are welcome to apply for project, travel and media grants that contribute to enhancing networking between young people in Sweden and Lithuania. The possibilities are wide. A mandatory requirement is a concrete contact with a cooperation partner in the respective country.

There are two deadlines a year, April 1st and October 1st. The application system is opened around 5 weeks in advance.

WHO CAN APPLY?

“Create yours!”
With this message the Fund invites actors from different fields to create partnerships for Sweden and Lithuania. "Create yours" means that anyone can establish new historical moments between two countries which already have common values - and create platforms for Sweden and Lithuania to exchange experiences and ideas.

So - eligible to apply are individuals, working groups, associations, organizations, companies, etc. Swedish or Lithuanian citizenship is not a requirement, but you must reside in either of the countries.

PROJECT PERIOD

You can only apply for funding for activities that take place after you have submitted your application. The project must be finalized within one year from the start date. 

WHERE AND HOW DO I MAKE MY APPLICATION? 

You send your application through our application system. Choose the grant that you want to apply for above.

Please note that we do not accept physical applications or appendix. You can link to a webpage, Youtube-channel, Dropbox/Google document or similar. 

IMPORTANT QUALITIES

A confirmed cooperation with a relevant partner (-s) in the respective country, intending to implement a common project is required and should be described in the application.

A relevant answer to the question “how would your project enhance and strengthen relationships between Sweden and Lithuania?”

Other criteria are: the originality of the project, cultural objectives, network building, innovation, development perspectives, diversity, content, feasibility, methods and target groups. At least one criteria should be fulfilled.

Applications targeting audiences with little, or no knowledge of Sweden/Lithuania are prioritized.

WHAT WE DO NOT FUND 

  • Ready-made projects 

  • School trips, study visits and studies 

  • Participation in events, eg sporting events, exhibitions etc

  • Wages are granted only in exceptional cases

WHEN DO I GET AN ANSWER?

Grants are reviewed twice a year. Application deadlines are April 1st and October 1st. Applicants receive decisions around one month after the deadline.

SUCCESS - MY APPLICATION WAS GRANTED, WHAT NOW? 

Awarded grants are being informed about by e-mail stipulating the amount and the conditions attached, as well as information on how to request payment of instalments and how to comply with the Foundation´s conditions. 

DO I NEED TO PAY TAXES FOR MY GRANT? 

No, our grants are tax free. 

HOW AND WHEN DO I WRITE MY REPORT?

After the project is finalized you are required to write a final report. Upon contacting the Fund´s secretariat a form will be sent for this purpose - an around one A4 project description and expense verifications.

This is to be submitted electronically. The foundation does not accept any reports or appendix on paper.
