Special grant to the Baltic Centre for Writers and Translators on Gotland
Lithuania has been chosen as the country in focus at the Gothenburg Book Fair in 2028. In order to showcase the wide range of literature written in Lithuania in recent years, a substantial number of translations will be required.
Therefore, the Fund Board decided to implement a three-year translator programme at the Baltic Centre for Writers and Translators on Gotland, funded by the Cooperation Fund.

Fall season grants allocated
The Fund Board at its meeting on October 20-21 reviewed submitted applications. The total amount allocated was decided to be EUR 22 500, approx. SEK 247 500, which includes a special grant SEK 50 000, to the Writers and Translators Center in Visby, Gotland. See separate news post for more on this. 15 950 euro allocated in grants in the fall of 2024
The Sweden-Lithuania Cooperation fund works to support bilateral exchange and grants project funding twice a year. At the board meeting on the 21 October 2024, the board of the Sweden-Lithuania Cooperation Fund allocated 15 950 euro in grants. The grants fall in the categories project and travel, because this time no grants in the category media were approved. In addition to the 27 500 euro allocated in the spring of 2024, a total of 43 450 euro have been available for various Sweden-Lithuanian cooperation projects.

Peter Egardt awarded the Swedish Defence University's first medal of merit

Projects granted funding in the spring of 2024
The Sweden-Lithuania Cooperation fund works to support bilateral exchange and grants project funding twice a year. At the board meeting on the 7th May 2024, 11 separate projects were granted as well as support given to the commemorative events taking place in Gotland in the fall of 2024, remembering 80th anniversary since the arrival of the Baltic boat refugees, named “Gotland - 80 years after”. The total funding amounts to 32 000 euro (approx. 366 000 SEK), of which 4 500 EUR are bookmarked for “Gotland - 80 years after”.
