New applications granted

The Cooperation fund board has decided to grant the following applications:  

Project grants

  • Raimonda Agnė Medeišienė, EUR 2500 for “Playback theatre for community building between Sweden and Lithuania”. Professional Playback training from Pontus Holmgren, certificated Playback trainer. This training will enable 4Rooms Theater to provide professional Playback service for various communities in Lithuania. Second purpose is to establish network for long term cultural exchange, spreading knowledge, practice, and experience of Playback Theatre in Lithuania and Sweden. Building bridges between Sweden and Lithuanian Applied Theatre environment.

  • Aliaksandr Beuz, EUR 3000, “Plogging Tour Lithuania”. Plogging is an international initiative, the essence of which is to collect litter (from the Swedish ”plocka upp”) along the way while jogging or running. Plogging first started in Sweden in 2016 by Erik Ahlström and now more than 40 countries have joined the movement. The project idea is to hold a big Plogging Tour around Lithuania under the support of Erik Ahlström and Embassy of Sweden with organizing plogging races in different cities and involving more and more local eco-active and sports people. This tour will also be a Qualifier to the next year third World Plogging Championship.

  • Svensk Litauiska Riksföreningen, EUR 4000, “A network for young professionals in Sweden and Lithuania in the field of social welfare”. The idea is to to give young nurses or nurses in education a chance to see and learn from each other and create network and contacts between the two countries. The plan is to invite 4-6 young nurses, or nurses to be, to Sweden where they will meet and follow Swedish nurses in their school and in their practice and vice versa for a Swedish group. This is in cooperation with Vårdcollege Kronoberg in Sweden, a college for both young and somewhat older students in social work, and the elderly home in Siauliai through the local Lithuanian - Swedish Society

  • Aili Markelius, EUR 2000, for a film production called “Förgätmigej/Neužmirštuõlė”. The project consists of three parts: (i) a film production, (ii) a following event in the shape of screening of the movie and discussion, and (iii) building of a website platform for cultural exchange and network building between young people in both countries. The movie script and pre production work is finished, including almost all the cooperative partners. The recording will take place mainly in Sweden and Lithuania, and most of the team is Lithuanian or Swedish.                        

Travel grants

  • Muhammad Sohail, EUR 1200, for a project called “Women In eNtrepreneurship- WIN” - a visit to engage Stockholm School of Economics-SSE and Stockholm Business Lab, for further cooperation in Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Lithuania.

  • Aiste Kielaite-Gulla, EUR 800, “Diagnostic kit for early pancreas cancer diagnosis”, travel costs for Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary surgical team from University of Vilnius to University of Lund in connection with a project concerning pancreatic cancer. The surgical team will assist with patient recruitment, sample collection, and data analysis.

Media grant

  • Jakob Åsell, EUR 700, a feature story covering Vilnius International Film Festival 2023. Project idea is to visit the annual Vilnius International Film Festival “Kino Pavasaris” and use the days at the festival as a platform to interview filmmakers and film industry professionals about the current state of the cinema of Lithuania.
